The Volney Solar Farm sits on 61 acres about 30 minutes northwest of Syracuse, NY. The full development consists of two co-located community solar projects participating in NY Value of Distributed Energy Resources (VDER) program. These projects will enable local residents to benefit from clean energy by subscribing to the solar farm, and receiving bill credits to offset their National Grid electric charges. AMS provided turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction services on the Volney Solar Farm, from preparation of construction ready plan sets through to commissioning and testing. Due to the presence of glacial till observed during pull testing, this 2P single-axis tracker was designed with ground screw foundations to mitigate subsurface risk and the glacial till that was encountered during pull testing.
